After breakfast at the hotel, at the agreed time you will depart for a boat excursion starting from Puerto Chucao, located inside Los Alerces National Park. From here, you will embark on Lake Menéndez, sailing through two of its three main arms and along the edge of the large island. During the navigation, you will pass at the foot of Cerro Torrecillas, home to its impressive glacier of permanent blue ice, where the boat will stop so you can admire it and take photos.

Throughout the journey, you will enjoy panoramic views of majestic mountain ranges with snow-capped peaks. At the end of the northern arm of Lake Menéndez, you will disembark at Puerto Sagrario to begin a land section of the tour, accompanied by a guided walk through the exceptionally beautiful Valdivian rainforest, known for its rich biodiversity.

At the end of the experience, you will reach “El Abuelo,” a larch tree over 2,600 years old, measuring 2.20 meters in diameter and 57 meters in height. It is one of the oldest living species on Earth and the most remarkable specimen of its kind. Due to its ecological importance, Los Alerces National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.

On this day, you will explore the Patagonian steppe and visit the Piedra Parada Natural Protected Area, named after its iconic rock formation, which rises approximately 270 meters high. This massive silica structure was formed by volcanic activity over 35 million years ago.

During the excursion, you will observe the geological impact of the ancient volcanic caldera eruption while walking into the Cañadón de la Buitrera, a stunning canyon enriched with diverse flora and fauna. The canyon stretches for about 6 kilometers and is surrounded by colorful rock walls that create a dramatic landscape.

The area also features natural caves that show evidence of human presence dating back more than 5,000 years, making it an important site of paleontological, anthropological, and archaeological significance.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for an excursion to the Marble Chapels. At the end of the experience, you will return to your hotel. Also known as the Marble Cathedrals, they are among the most important attractions in Patagonia, formed by three limestone structures distinguished by their striking columns and the deep blue waters surrounding them.

The formations—The Cathedral, La Capilla, and La Cueva, are located on the shores of Lake General Carrera in the Aysén region, forming one of the most breathtaking landscapes in southern Chile and a favorite destination for photography enthusiasts. They are part of the Carretera Austral route and have been protected by law since 1994, when they were declared a Nature Sanctuary.

Shaped over millennia by wind and water, the Marble Chapels feature calcium carbonate formations stretching across approximately 300 meters. Access is by boat, which also allows navigation through and around the formations for a closer view.
