Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise

Meet your Memphis Tours representative on arrival at Aswan International Airport or the railway station and transfer by air-conditioned vehicle to Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise. Embarkation begins from around 12:00 PM. Settle into your cabin and enjoy lunch on board before beginning your Aswan sightseeing.

This afternoon, visit the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan’s ancient granite quarries, then continue to the mainland embarkation point for Philae Temple. Cross by motorboat to Agilkia Island and explore the temple complex with your English-speaking Egyptologist before returning to the cruise.
Dinner is served on board, with your first overnight in Aswan.

Enjoy the morning in Aswan, or make the most of your time with a highly recommended optional excursion to Abu Simbel by Road: Travel south across the desert to the monumental temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari, one of southern Egypt’s most remarkable archaeological experiences. The journey takes approximately 3½ hours each way, with time to explore both rock-cut temples before returning to Aswan.

Back on board, enjoy lunch before Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise begins sailing north. Later, step ashore at Kom Ombo to visit the distinctive riverside temple dedicated to Sobek and Haroeris. Return to the cruise and continue sailing toward Edfu, with dinner served on board.

Walking: Moderate walking over uneven stone surfaces at Kom Ombo.

Good to Know: Kom Ombo Temple is located directly beside the Nile and is easily reached from the docking area.

Note: The Abu Simbel excursion requires an early-morning departure and is recommended to be booked in advance.

Begin the day with a visit to Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus and one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples. The temple is normally reached from the docking area by traditional horse-drawn carriage. Return to Iberotel Crown Empress Nile Cruise and continue sailing north toward Luxor, enjoying time on board as the Nile scenery passes by.

Later, explore Luxor’s East Bank, beginning at the vast temple complex of Karnak before continuing to Luxor Temple. Return to the cruise for dinner and your final night on board.

Walking: Moderate to active, with extensive walking at Karnak and uneven archaeological surfaces.

Good to Know: Edfu Temple is inland from the river and normally reached by horse-drawn carriage. The carriage fare is included.

After breakfast and disembarkation, explore Luxor’s West Bank, beginning with the legendary Valley of the Kings, the royal burial ground of Egypt’s New Kingdom pharaohs, where richly decorated tombs were carved deep into the desert cliffs more than 3,000 years ago.

Continue to the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari, dramatically set against the surrounding limestone cliffs, before stopping at the monumental Colossi of Memnon, the two massive seated statues that once guarded the mortuary temple of Amenhotep III.

After sightseeing, your Memphis Tours representative will transfer you directly to Luxor International Airport or the railway station according to your onward travel arrangements.

Walking: Moderate to active, with uneven ground, steps and some inclines around the tombs and temple.

Cabin check-out is completed before the West Bank visit, followed by your sightseeing and direct transfer to the airport or railway station.
