Bohol Siquijor Dumaguete Tour — 9 Days Central Visayas

Leave your resort early in the morning for a day trip that will introduce you to the wonders of Bohol.
First stop is the Philippine Tarsier Foundation in the town of Corella, which serves as a refuge for the smallest primate in the world, the tarsier. Observe these rare, nocturnal creatures in their natural habitat and be amazed by their agility as they move about, leaping from one tree to the other, and swivel their heads nearly 360 degrees.

Then proceed to Baclayon, make a short stop at the historical Blood Compact site, where Spain's Miguel Lopez de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna, a native chieftain, sealed their friendship with a symbolic drink. In Baclayon, visit a centuries-old stone church that houses a museum containing a collection of religious art, ecclesiastical vestments, as well as librettos of church music inscribed in Latin on animal skins.

Proceed with the tour, passing by Bilar man-made forest, a thick undergrowth of towering mahogany trees grown on the fringes of the highway leading to the Chocolate Hills, the country's geological wonder. From a distance, these hills look like huge candy drops that change in color with the season, and are aptly named 'chocolate' when the hill grasses turn deep brown in summer. Hike up to the viewpoint for a bird's eye view of the surrounding area before moving on to Loboc River where a cruise downstream on a floating restaurant is made more enjoyable with a delectable lunch served on board. Return to the hotel by late afternoon.

After breakfast, free time at leisure until your scheduled transfer to Tagbilaran Port for your ferry transfer to Siquijor. Upon arrival at Siquijor pier, transfer to your resort for check-in. Rest of the day at leisure.

Breakfast at the resort. Your first stop is visiting the 4 century old Balete Tree (or Banyan Tree) in the Philippines. Locals believe that this tree is inhabited by spirits. The tree provides water supply to the village.
St. Isidore Church and Convent, built by Spanish priest in 1884 in Lazi, is the biggest and among the oldest convents in Asia and recognized as a National Historical Landmark. Afterwards proceed to Cambugahay Waterfalls, a three level waterfalls with refreshing water perfect for swimming.

Shell Museum — an exhibit of many sea shells found in Siquijor. Bolo-bolo Healer — a healing ritual involves using a clear glass of water, black stone and pipe. Using the pipe, the healer blows into the glass of water, moving it across the affected area of the patient's body. The water in the glass slowly becomes murky, filled with brown and cottony organic matter believed to be the bad elements removed from the patient's body. The process is repeated a few times until the water remains clear, an indication that the impurities causing the disease has been healed.

Continue to St. Francis of Assisi Church and Bell Tower, located in Siquijor town, this is the first church you will see when arriving from Siquijor Pier. This is the first Parish Church on the island and was built in 1783. The last stop of the tour is San Juan de Capilay Lake. The nature spring water that flows through Capilay Lake serves as the local's picnic area on most weekends.

After breakfast, free time at leisure until your scheduled transfer to Siquijor Pier for your ferry transfer to Dumaguete. Upon arrival in Dumaguete, proceed with the tour.
Enjoy the distinctly old hometown ambience of Dumaguete as you tour around the city. Begin your tour at the prestigious Silliman University Campus, a renowned educational institution established by American Presbyterian missionaries in 1901. As you explore the campus, visit the university's Anthropology Museum where you'll see excavated artifacts and ethnographic collection representing Philippine indigenous groups.

Drive through the lively streets of Dumaguete, passing by landmarks like the Provincial Capitol and the Rizal Boulevard, where you can feel the echoes of history in the sea breeze. Take a break at Sansrival Bistro to savor freshly brewed coffee and Sylvannas, a local favorite treat. Admire the city's architectural landmark, the Bell Tower, a symbol of the city's past dating back to 1776. Then the tour takes you to the heart of local life – the vibrant public market complex.
Venture outside the city to Bacong, where you'll discover the legacy of Pantaleon Villegas, also known as Leon Kilat, a native son who spearheaded the revolution in Cebu for Philippine Independence against Spanish rule in 1898. Nearby, the Bacong Church, home to a historic Pipe Organ installed by the Spaniards in 1894.

Note:
The National Museum of the Philippines - Dumaguete offers an alternative on the days when the Silliman University Museum is closed. The museum opened in November 2022, and features the natural history of Negros Oriental in geology, zoology, and botany as well as exhibiting architectural arts, archeology, and built heritage.

• National Museum is open from Tuesday through Sunday.

At the end of the tour, drop off at the hotel.

Spend the day at leisure to explore the Dauin region. You may walk along the coast of Dauin beach or avail of the optional tour below.

OPTIONAL: Apo Island Tour with lunch — USD 160.00 per person (minimum of 2 persons)
Apo Island is a community-organized marine sanctuary located 7 kilometers off the town of Zamboanguita, and about 30 kilometers south of Dumaguete City. Approximately 7 hectares in size, the island is the underwater abode of several species of corals and reef fishes, including sea turtles. To enjoy and experience the marine life in this protected area, depart from Malatapay on board an out-rigger boat for the 40-minute ride to the island. Relish snorkelling in its wide reef flats and coral mounds teeming with an extensive variety of fish, and if you're lucky, a sea turtle or two might just show up to make your day a wholly pleasant one. A picnic lunch will be served at the island, then more time will be spent snorkelling before returning to the mainland.

After breakfast, free time at leisure until your scheduled transfer to Sibulan Port. Take a ferry/boat to Lilo-an Seaport then continue with further transfer to Sumilon Wharf. Upon arrival, wait for a shared boat transfer to Sumilon Island. The entire transfer from Dauin Resort) Dumaguete to Sumilon Island might take approximately 2-3 hours.

Spend the day at leisure and enjoy the beach until the Sumilon Sunset Cruise activity, which starts at 4 PM and ends at 5:30 PM.

After breakfast, free time at leisure until your scheduled ferry and land transfers to either Mactan Airport in Cebu or Dumaguete Airport for your flight back home or to your onward destination.
