You will be picked up and start your safari trip in Kenya through the Rift Valley to Maasai Mara, Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve. Embark on a game viewing drive enroute to the lodge and arrive in time for lunch.

The Maasai Mara is arguably Kenya’s most popular game reserve. It is most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film “Out of Africa” was made to a great extend in this sanctuary. There is a profusion of all types of wildlife including the big five. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of millions of wildebeests, zebras, and the gazelles from the Serengeti plains across the Tanzania border and the Mara river to reach Maasai Mara grazing fields from late June. The game reserve abounds with birdlife since close to about four hundred and fifty two odd species have been recorded. Over 700 square miles of lush, sun-drenched plains encircle Keekorok Lodge, the first property in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in southwest Kenya. The lodge was opened in 1962 and is ideally situated in the direct path of the spectacular animal migration that occurs every year from July to October. Guests can experience unparalleled safari adventures, and morning and evening game drives are a must for anyone visiting the reserve.

As your plane lands at the Keekorok airstrip, you will find yourself in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve. You will be picked up in your own 4x4 Land Cruiser at the airstrip and, after passing a family of elephants or a herd of zebras on the short drive to the lodge, Keekorok Lodge will welcome you with open arms.

This can been undertaken during your second or third day in Masai Mara. Kindly find here below a brief itinerary: Pick up from your lodge at 05. 30 Hrs and your will be transferred to the launching grounds. Embark on a 1-hour ride over the Masai Mara National Park to enjoy magnificent birds’ eye view of the wild game in this reserve. The mighty Mara remains one of Kenya's best loved reserves habouring miles of wide savannah, rolling hills and riverine forest with huge grazing herds, bountiful birdlife and one of Africa's largest population of lions.

Continue your safari trip in Kenya this morning as you drive to Lake Nakuru national park, a shallow alkaline lake that is world-renowned for its huge concentration of flamingos; at times, hundreds of thousands of these birds give the lake a pink shimmering glow. The park boasts a huge variety of animals, including leopard which is often found snoozing on the branches of the magnificent yellow-barked acacias, lion, buffalo, hippo, waterbuck, warthog, baboon, the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe only found in this park in Kenya, white rhino and the rare black rhino which is protected and guarded here.

After breakfast, bid farewell to Lake Nakuru National Park and depart to Aberdare National Park. Picturesque, steep forested ravines and open moorland characterise the Aberdare National Park. The park provides a habitat for elephants, black rhinos, leopards, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, buffalos, warthogs and bushbucks among others. Rare sightings include those of the Giant Forest hog, bongo, golden cat, serval cat, African wild cat, African civet cat and the blue duiker. Visitors can indulge in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping in the moorlands. Bird viewing is rewarding, with over 250 species of birds in the park, including the Jackson's Francolin, Sparrow hawks, goshawks, eagles, sunbirds and plovers.
