Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to My Tho, the gateway to the Mekong Delta, while enjoying the scenic drive along the way. Upon arrival at the riverside pier, board a motorboat for a relaxed cruise, admiring classic Delta scenery such as traditional stilt houses and active fishing farms.

Switch from boat to bicycle for an easy, leisurely ride along flat village roads, passing fruit orchards and traditional homes while observing rural life that has remained mostly unchanged for generations. Along the way, friendly children greet you with a warm “Xin Chao.” Visit a family-run workshop to see coconut candies being handmade, then enjoy local tea with honey and taste fresh fruits while speaking with local residents to learn about Mekong Delta customs and lifestyles.

As the train approaches, vendors swiftly fold their umbrellas and clear their stalls. Enjoy a short train ride through the market, observing everyday life and engaging with friendly local vendors.

Next, discover the renowned Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. A thrilling longtail speedboat journey takes you past riverside villages and fruit plantations before arriving at the vibrant market. Visit Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, a sacred temple reached by a steep staircase protected by Naga serpents. Explore Wat Phra Singh, which houses the revered Phra Singh Buddha, and Wat Chedi Luang, famous for its massive pagoda that was damaged in the 1545 earthquake.

Depart Chiang Mai at 7:00 AM for a scenic 50-minute drive north to Elephant Eco Valley, passing rural villages, forests, and farmland.
