The Falls and its town have gone through plenty of changes and improvements through the years. Thus, it is worth visiting attraction in Kenya, although it is not a tourist center.
The Falls was one of the last towns to be established. A hut built by the Narok Angling Club in the early 1920s was the first sign of urbanization. It was built to give the members the opportunity to fish for the freshly introduced trout in the Ewaso Narok River, along with Pesi and Equator rivers.
Later in 1929, the railway branch line arrived and the town started to get active and to be on the map. The line is closed now. However, the hotel built in 1931, Thomson’s Falls Lodge is still present.
Nyahururu is still a significant market town. The market is worth visiting, especially on Saturdays.
